Loiter Point exists because most drone coverage is written by people who don't fly. You can tell — the reviews regurgitate spec sheets, the buyer guides are obviously affiliate-optimized, and nobody covers firmware changelogs or FAA regulation changes in any useful depth.
We fly the drones we review. Every score on this site reflects real flight hours under real conditions — wind, rain, limited light, maximum range. We log RSSI data, measure actual battery cutoff times, and track how firmware updates change flight characteristics over time.
Every review uses the same methodology: minimum five flight sessions, tested at 15+ mph sustained wind, at rated max range with RSSI logged, in sub-optimal lighting conditions, and measured to actual battery cutoff — not the manufacturer's optimistic quoted runtime. Scores are out of 10 to one decimal place and represent our genuine assessment. An 8.5 is not "pretty good" — it means something specific keeps it from a 9.
Full reviews with real field test data. Firmware analysis — every meaningful update decoded. FAA & airspace regulation translated into plain language for pilots. FPV builds from parts list to first flight. Technical guides covering battery chemistry, ND filter math, color grading, and flight planning. Buyer guides written for specific real-world use cases.
